Rare Book Cases & More In
The Rune Works Wood Shop
The Wood Shop Is Open
This is a labor of love; I am making these pieces by hand for my most beloved books and other fiction-themed objects to protect them and to make them standout. Each one has a particular haecceity: truly one of a kind. Art for our art.
~R.J.H. – The Forgotten Fiction’s Rune Works Wood Shop
P.S. Discounts are available for multiple purchases, as are requests for having multiple pieces made from the same piece of wood.

Hellraiser Lament Cube R.W. Case Limited Edition Of X
Hellraiser Lament Cube R.W. Case Limited Edition Of X, because this case takes so much time and effort to craft and over 24 hours to engrave, alone, for the 8″ sided cube pictured here.
Place your true first print editions of Clive Barker’s Books Of Blood and the first edition paperback of The Hellbound Heart in the hell-defying puzzle box, made entirely of wood, velvet, glass, and pin nails!
I am only making ten, or I may limit if further – the effort to make these as perfect as possible is extremely difficult, and the price for the paperback 8″ sided edition and stand is $600, an edition made for hardcovers start at $850 and go up, depending on the size of the books, which determine the size of the cube.

The Long Walk Book Traycase Limited Edition Of 19
Blood spatter is optional, but the three bullets, one embedded, one in alongside the book, and one to keep the latch closed are all non-negotiable on The Walk.

THE BACHMAN BOOKS: RAGE, THE LONG WALK, THE RUNNING MAN, ROADWORK BY RICHARD BACHMAN A.K.A. STEPHEN KING
This is a RW Case for more of my favorites written by Stephen King under the pen name Richard Bachman. For this, I use black velvet to drape, separate, and pad the four first edition paperback books – US editions (or UK if you need) – that fit snugly into the case horizontally. This is the PC shown in a limited edition 19, roman numeral XIX for $550 + shipping.

MISERY Display Case Limited Edition Of 52 Lettered
420Misery By Stephen King: I commissioned the book’s illustrator in the Suntup editions, Dave Christensen, to do an original piece that I licensed so I could engrave it on a case to either display the back of the case’s scene (stained white for the image/snow), and the rest of the case is stained black and you can show it by spine-side, made to mimic the AE’s slipcase spine, or show it via the front UV protected glass door, and show off the Suntup slipcase with its typewriter.
The Artist Gift Edition case is $395 (includes trade editions), the numbered edition is $670, and the lettered edition would require measurements of the book to give a quote (all are plus shipping).
Since letters are important to the book, each will be a lettered edition. More Pictures are coming!

THE STAND Case With Licensed Bernie Wrightson Art Limited Edition Of 19
“The Trashcan Man” illustration by Bernie Wrightson for Stephen King’s UNCUT book The STAND has been rendered in a fully-fledged engraving in the wood of the TFF Rune Works Rare Book Case.
Each TFF Rune Works Rare Book Case comes with a limited edition number and a limitation page, and this one includes the image of the art that certifies that this particular piece was personally approved of by Liz Wrightson and it has been officially licensed.
You pick a theme: light or dark. You pick an edition to base the design off of, from the US Doubleday first edition to the Uncut, to the UK Nel first edition. I will hand paint elements, like I did for Flagg’s crows.
These are $400 + sales tax.

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS Case Limited Edition Of X
Paul Suntup was gracious enough to gift 420 ARCs of SOTL to his customers and The Fans Of Suntup Facebook Group page had a contest where I made a 1/1 custom case for that book and the grand prize winner, Kyle Helmer.
I put Hannibal behind bars and glass!
Kyle graciously allowed me to make a different numbered version of that design that had a death’s head moth rendered in a fully-fledged engraving in the wood of the TFF Rune Works Rare Book Case limited to 10 and a few Artist’s Copies (ACs) for the ARC holders. I would happily make one for another edition of Silence Of The Lambs as well.
Each has steel bars and will be made a bit nicer than the white prototype featured here, which I am keeping for my own copy.

Every piece I make is hand-selected, from the wood, to the archival-safe materials used, and each design, from the engravings to the stains, will always make each a one-of-a-kind work of art. These are custom and hand-crafted, one at a time, to make the most of woodcraft and fiction, which are two passions of mine. ~R.J.H.

The artwork is stunning in person.
I cannot photograph it well enough to show it, but all of the lines of the original are engraved in the wood.
The use of the original piece was personally approved of by Liz Wrightson, as was the final carving of the art in the wood, so that the integrity of the art remains true to Bernie Wrightson’s original vision of the Trashcan Man. I am all about attention to detail, which is why I used a scan of an inscribed copy of The Stand to use to engrave Sai Stephen King’s signature in the front of the RW Book Case.
THE LONG WALK Case
THE LONG WALK By Richard Bachman (RIP) aka Stephen King is one of my all time favorite novels and this has been a hot one – one of my first concepts – a bullet-themed case for when you fall below 4 mph.
